Santa Rosa (1726)

HMFMS Santa Rosa was a Portuguese Galleon that exploded and sank in the Atlantic Ocean off Recife, Brazil, while she was on a voyage from Salvador, Brazil to Lisbon, Portugal under the command of Captain Bartolomeu Freire De Araújo.

Construction

Santa Rosa was build in 1715 at the Ribeira das Naus shipyard in Lisbon, Portugal for the Portuguese Navy. She was 56 metres (183 ft 9 in) long, had 3 masts and was fitted with 56 to 70 cannons.

Battle of Matapan

On 19 July 1717 Santa Rosa took part in the Battle of Matapan (now Tenaro, Greece) in the Portuguese wing coalition organized by Pope Clement IX against the Turks during the Ottoman-Venetian War (1714–1718). After her return to Portugal, she went on different escort missions to fight against pirates. She was also frequently used to protect the yearly fleets to Brazil.

Sinking

On 20 March 1726, A fleet of 18 ships left Portugal for Brazil. Amongst them were 2 war ships HMFMS Santa Rosa and HMFMS Nossa Senhora Da Nazare. Santa Rosa the mightiest ship in colonial Portugal´s fleet under the command of Captain Bartolomeu Freire De Araújo was assigned to escort the Portuguese fleet bringing the wealth of the New World back to Portugal. The fleet reached Salvador, Brazil after 2 months and 4 days at sea on 24 May 1726

The song continued on the lyrical theme from "People Need Love" about reaching out to your fellow man. It was issued as a single in Scandinavia, and was taken from the group's debut album Ring Ring, which was released in 1973 in Scandinavia and a few European countries, excluding the United Kingdom. The catalogue number for Scandinavian releases on the Polar label is: POS 1168. The catalogue number [in New Zealand?] is: FAY 1054, the previous issue on this label being 'People Need Love". The catalogue number in the United States is P 50037 on Playboy Records label.

The song was written and composed by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus. All four ABBA members share lead-vocals on this recording.

The song was one of the early favourites among the group's members, and was the only song from the group's first album which was performed during the group's 1977 tour of Europe and Australia. It was performed by artists (along with ABBA), during the Music for UNICEF Concert in January 1979.

Castlevania, also referred to as Castlevania 64, known in Japan as Akumajō Dracula Mokushiroku (悪魔城ドラキュラ黙示録, Akumajō Dorakyura Mokushiroku, lit. Devil's Castle Dracula Apocalypse), is an action-adventure video game developed by Konami's Kobe branch for the Nintendo 64 video game console. It was released on a 64-megabit cartridge in North America on January 26, 1999, in Japan on March 11, 1999, and in Europe on May 14, 1999.

Castlevania is the first 3D game in the Castlevania series. The player selects one of the game's protagonists to control: Carrie Fernandez, a young orphan gifted with magic powers, or Reinhardt Schneider, the whip-wielding heir to the Belmont clan (the series' recurring protagonists). Carrie and Reinhardt set out on a quest to stop Count Dracula's impending return to power after a century of dormancy. The characters travel to and explore Dracula's grand estate in their mission to defeat the count and his horde of undead minions.

Rose

A rose (/ˈroʊz/) is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over 100 species and thousands of cultivars.
